3 GENERATIONS IN THE SIGN BUSINESS

HAROLD B. STADE

Born in 1920, Harold served with the 82nd Airborne during WWII.  After the war, he attended a New York City Trade School for Sign Painting / Fine Lettering & Showcard Artist.  One of his instructors was an old master who at the turn of the century lettered and striped stagecoaches.  After school, he was a sign painter in northern NJ until 1965 when he moved with his wife Betty and children to the beautiful state of Maine & the Moosehead Lake area.

He continued lettering until the age of 90.

THOMAS F. STADE

Harold's son, Tom, followed in the same skills & owned a commercial sign shop in northern NJ.  In 1997 he moved back to Maine in the Bangor area, in 2008 Tom relocated to the Moosehead Lake area where he continues making signs as his dad.

MICAH H. STADE

Tom's son, Micah, grew up working alongside his father in the sign business.  During this time a synergy between hand craftsmanship and modern technology developed.  In 2017 Micah joined the business, adding high-quality skill sets for production and innovation.
